Goonies 2 – Still Digging for a Sequel! Hey You GUYSSSS!

The Goonies. Is there anything left to say about this classic movie that hasn’t been said before? Well, if Richard Donner and Steven Spielberg have anything to say about it, we’ll get at least one more adventure in Astoria, Oregon!

In an interview with TMZ (above), Richard Donnner (director of the original Goonies) mentioned that a sequel is indeed coming, with none other than Steven Spielberg himself plotting out the storyline for Goonies 2!

Some of the biggest worries by fans are whether the original cast will return in the sequel or how they’re going to be worked into the storyline. Donner himself says he doesn’t see why the entire original cast won’t be in it. Also, while talking to TMZ while New York City, Sean Astin has said he’d do a sequel in a heartbeat. Corey Feldman has for years said that he’d do a second one as well. The hardest sell might be Josh Brolin, who’s gone onto more serious film roles in the last few years (not counting Men in Black 3).

So, will Goonies 2 actually get get made? How about the original cast returning? I’m guessing that since Steven Spielberg himself is reportedly behind the reigns, it looks like all things Goonies might actually fall into place after years of unsubstantiated rumors! Goonies never say die!!!
