Get Your 1st Look at Disney & Marvel’s Big Hero 6

Disney and Marvel’s next animated feature stars an armored hero, but he doesn’t look anything like Tony Stark. From the people who brought us Frozen and Wreck-It Ralph, Big Hero 6 is about a team of Marvel Comics heroes you’ve probably never heard of and wouldn’t recognize if you did.

Inspired by the comic starring a young team of originally Japan-based heroes, Big Hero 6 exists independently from the core Marvel Cinematic Universe, so don’t expect to see Captain America or Iron Man to make an appearance in this animated feature. And don’t expect to see exact interpretations of the characters you know and love, even if you are a fan of the obscure comic. This film forges its own path in the realm of Marvel animated features, which could possibly lay the groundwork for more rough interpretations of Marvel heroes down the line, if successful.

The story centers around teenage genius Hiro and his loyal, squishy robot sidekick, Baymax, as they suit up for an adventure unlike any has brought to the screen before (except maybe Pixar’s The Incredibles).

Disney has been teasing this for awhile. We got a peek at some of the artwork at last year’s D23 Expo in Anaheim, but not much else. This video is an exciting and humorous look into what we can expect to see on November 7th.
