Universal Studios Hollywood Launches Minion Mayhem Ride

Earlier today, Universal Studios played host to press and fans of their mega-popular Despicable Me animated movie franchise with the launch of their new Minion Mayhem ride at Universal Studios Hollywood. Celebrities, and characters from the movies, including Gru and his girls, walked the yellow carpet to celebrate the event. Hosted by Mario Lopez, with speeches from top Universal executives and Los Angeles city Mayor Garcetti, the event featured big yellow hard hats for the kiddies, a massive gathering of minions, and an explosive finish to the festivities, with confetti and balloons covering everything in a blanket of minion yellow. The actresses who voiced the girls that Gru adopted, Miranda Cosgrove, Dana Gaier, and Elsie Fisher, were on hand to oversee the event were among the first to hop on board the new attraction. They, along with Steve Carrel, provided their voices for the 3D motion ride that takes riders on an adventure inside the massive complex owned by Gru as they get the opportunity to be turned into minions themselves and live a day in the life of their overalls.

The attraction and its neighboring water park (Super Silly Fun Land), shops, games, and Gru’s Lab Cafe open to the general public on April 12th.
