Can’t get into E3 this year? Have no means to get to LA anyway? Well, Nintendo is coming to you.
Of course, the first stop on the tour has to be in LA, just days prior to the launch of E3 Expo 2014, especially since Nintendo has no plans for a media exclusive press conference as in previous years. They’re aiming at the fans and players rather than the media and the industry that seems intent on constantly reminding them that they aren’t yet up to snuff when it comes to modern gaming. Well, pooh on them. Let’s have some fun!
If you’re lucky enough to make it to Culver City on June 6-8, you’ll be able to get your hands on the following games on the Nintendo 2DS:
There will be themed zones that feature all of your favorite games. You’ll be able to sit in banana-shaped seats in the Donkey Kong area, a giant Pokéball in the Pokémon section and Yoshi egg chairs in the Yoshi’s Island zone. And, of course, don’t forget to have your picture taken with your favorite characters, like Mario, Luigi, Donkey Kong and Kirby.
And if you haven’t picked up Mario Kart 8 for the Wii U yet, here’s your chance to try it out against friends and complete strangers in a battle for track dominance. Winners in the tournament arena will advance to higher and higher levels where they can eventually lay the smackdown on the giant TV screen that will dominate the event.
The Play Nintendo Tour 2014 takes place at 6000 Sepulveda Blvd in Culver City (at the Fox Hills Mall) from June 6th through the 8th. Check out the official Nintendo site for more information.
The tour will continue through other cities across the US on the following dates:
