Inside Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts

Universal has finally unveiled more about their upcoming new attraction at Universal Studios Orlando – Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts!

In this behind-the-scenes clip, the creators of the ride, along with a few familiar cast members from the films, give us a peek at what we can expect from this new addition to the Florida theme park.

If you’ve been to Universal Studios Orlando, you already know how popular the Wizarding World of Harry Potter area of the park already is. Now, in addition to Hogsmeade, Hogwarts, and a few roller coasters that already exist in Islands of Adventure, they’ve built a new area in the original Universal Studios Orlando park, connecting the two areas by train. Just as it was for Harry and friends in the books and films, you can experience the trip they take from King’s Cross station to Hogwarts/Hogsmeade in an actual functioning locomotive.

But the Escape from Gringotts ride is the centerpiece of the new Diagon Alley area they’re in the process of finishing up in time for its summer 2014 debut.

According to Universal, the ride will take you on a magical trip into the depths of the infamous vaults, intersecting your trip with the sequence pulled right from Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows:

Harry Potter and the Escape from Gringotts will be the signature ride of The Wizarding World of Harry Potter — Diagon Alley. It will be a groundbreaking, multi-dimensional thrill ride that will place riders in the middle of an incredible adventure as they navigate their way through the Gringotts vaults.

If I were you, I’d start booking your tickets to Florida now (unless you already live there). And if you are already there, you should already be in line. The new section of the park is rumored to open June 2014.
