Go Back to the Island with the Lost 2014 Fan Event

Registration is currently underway for LOST 2014, a fan gathering taking place in Oahu during the ten year anniversary of the cult television series premiere. It’s no coincidence that the event is happening exactly in line with the timeline of the show, as September 22nd, 2004 marked the exact date Oceanic 815 broke in two over an exotic and mysterious place simply known as “The Island”.

LOST was a groundbreaking series that proved network could make serialized television as dramatic, explosive, and rich with mythology rivaling cable dramas. Say what you will about the series finale, but despite its polarizing effect on viewers, the series never lost its gusto and kept people talking about it around the water cooler and spinning theories long after The End.

LOST 2014 aims to draw fans together as a community of castaways that found in each other a common ground in a pop-culture phenomenon that traversed modern day storytelling and really gave proper footing to the generation of message board junkies hell-bent on postulating the precise origin of the three-toed statue, the deeper meaning behind Jack’s beard or whatever did happen to Shannon’s inhaler?

The draft schedule on the website is still in the finalization process but will include a screening, two separately planned tours of still standing sets from the series, such as the Dharma bunkers, the crash site on the beach and Hurley’s Golf Course. The organizers are hopeful for a cast Q&A after seeing some of the cast recently reunited for a PaleyFest 10 Year celebration as well as a planned presence at this year’s San Diego Comic-Con.

We have to go back!
