Doctor Who’s Matt Smith Takes on Terminator Reboot

It looks like former Doctor Matt Smith will face off against a whole new type of robot hellbent on extermination in the new Terminator reboot from Paramount and Skybound Productions.

Of course, we’re just assuming the tall, lanky actor won’t be a whole different type of robot himself. Sure, the studio says that he’ll be playing a character with a strong connection to John Connor (Jason Clarke), but maybe that connection is lethal. You never know.

The film will be directed by Alan Taylor with a screenplay by Laeta Kalogridis and Patrick Lussier. As for the cast, it wouldn’t be a Terminator film without Arnold Schwarzenegger, but we also get Emilia Clarke (Daenerys Targaryen!), Jai Courtney, J.K. Simmons, Dayo Okeniyi, and Byung Hun Lee.

Expect the Terminator (possible subtitle pending) to open worldwide July 1st, 2015.
