Colin Firth Kicks Ass in the 1st Kingsman The Secret Service Trailer

Britain has no shortage of super spies (or at least one played by different men over more than 50 years). And it has no shortage of stuffy uppercrust gentlemen types, often played by actors like Colin Firth. Kingsman The Secret Service brings the two unlikely scenarios together in this new film by Matthew Vaughn (Kick-Ass, X-Men: First Class).

Based on the Mark Millar (Kick-Ass) and Dave Gibbons (Watchmen) comic simply titled “The Secret Service”, the film tells the tale of an elite group of super spies that counts Colin Firth as one of their top agents. When he takes on the task of recruiting a shiftless street punk (newcomer Taron Egerton) into the organization, he introduces the teen to a world he was seemingly never cut out for… that and enough killer gadgets to make even Q blush.

There’s a lot more to the story than that, but I won’t spoil it for you. I read the comic when it was released and between that and the jaw dropping footage 20th Century Fox showed us at WonderCon 2014, it looks like we’re in for a hell of a ride.

The only thing that really surprised me when I saw the trailer was the addition of “Kingsman” to the title. I guess the term “The Secret Service” is a bit ubiquitous and confusing when it comes to movie marketing and Google searches.

The film also stars Samuel L Jackson and Michael Caine, because movies.

Watch for Kingsman The Secret Service to hit theaters fall 2014.
