Our 1st Look at Affleck as Batman with Batmobile

As I mentioned yesterday, Zack Snyder was all set up to tease us with more glimpses of the new Batmobile. Well, he did more than I expected. He gave us Ben Affleck in costume as Batman!

Sure, it’s a little dark (as seen in the Tweet below), but we did a little tweaking to lighten it up a bit so you can make out the details (above). It’s definitely less “armory” and more of a skin-tight costume, likely a high density Kevlar like material. And either we’re meant to believe that Batfleck is that cut or the costume has a built-in six-pack just under the broad pectoral-spanning bat symbol across his chest. As for the rest of the ensemble, the utility belt is there (thankfully not bright yellow) and the cowl seems to allow his head to turn more – something the previous version lacked. In the past you just had to stay out of Batman’s peripheral vision in order to avoid his wrath.

As for the Batmobile, well, we see the front in this pic, but overall, it’s hard to tell how the whole thing comes together. It’s obvious that the cockpit isn’t accessible like a normal two door auto, but how it opens is anyone’s guess. But as far as I can see, this Batmobile looks like the best of the 90s (what little there was) mixed with the Dark Knight vehicles: cool, sinister, stylish, aggressive, yet with lines heavy on the bat motif. I look forward to seeing it in all its glory, possibly this summer. Wouldn’t hurt to find it a parking space in San Diego this summer, right, Warner Bros?
